ABOUT US

Joya Commerce is started and run by me; Shirley Akkerman, 34 years old and living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. 

Working for different professional companies in the past 10+ years I have acquired substantial working experience in the field of e-commerce. Having started and grown several brands on a global scale I have a good insight into which strategies will help grow your brand for the long term and which will boost your sales on shorter term. 

In the past years I have launched the global brand "XD Design" for which I operated as the Global Brand Director. In this position I have created a digital landscape in which all aspects of e-commerce came together, from logistics in several warehouses worldwide, a global customer support system to a Product Management System which was automatically linked to our website(s) and global marketplaces. Ensuring that only a small team was needed to run the business and everything was fully automated. 

Next to that I have run over 8 successful Kickstarter Campaigns, running up to 1M in revenue per campaign. 

In all these processes I was leading the projects and have always had a very hands on approach.
